(this is kind of,, my idea on how the event would go down ;3;
sorry if there are any mistakes, i wrote it in about 40 minutes and it's also 2 am so i'm kind of out of it)

Though Geoff had been called to fight many times for the safety of his people, this was the first occasion that the monster attacked in the daylight. As King he would rush out to protect the townsfolk, since hardly any armed themselves for battle. The guards were always trying to get him to wait, to allow them to assemble the army and take care of the threat for him. But Geoff wouldn't allow it; he didn't want his people dying while he stayed in his castle in the meantime.

The magnitude of the damage was easily seeable as he rushed into the town. Whatever was attacking was quite large and destroying anything in its path. Already so many were dead, and with every broken, crumpled body he passed Geoff's anger flared up even more. His grip on his sword was so tight his knuckles were white, and his entire body was warm with rage. Whatever this was, it was going to feel the wrath of a god.

Following the path of destruction, he caught up with the creature. A strange one he'd never seen before. It had legs of a bovine nature, the torso of a man, and the head of a bull. It was simply massive, and in one hand it held a large club. Geoff simply couldn't run fast enough to stop it from swinging yet again, sending people flying and removing a house from its foundation. But when he approached, the monster immediately turned its attention to him.

Now that he had its focus on him, the King prepared himself for the fight of his life. One massive hoof stepped closer to him, the beast raising its club yet again, and Geoff rolled under the swing and slashed the belly of the monster. It didn't seem to notice that it was hurt. Geoff continued, rolling and ducking under every attack the beast did, retaliating with his own strikes and slashes. But he was doing nothing; nothing except tiring himself out. It must not feel pain, he thought, or perhaps it just doesn't care.

He had to give himself a moment to breathe. Rolling back, out of reach of the monster, he let his guard fall for a moment. The blood was rushing so loudly in his ears that he didn't notice the sound of footsteps behind him.

He didn't notice until a blade had pierced his chest.

His heavy breathing was replaced by short gasps of air as he looked down at the blade protruding from his chest, before turning his suddenly too stiff neck to look at the traitor. His eyes met with the Vagabond's, and the first thing he noticed was the pure malice burning in the man's eyes. He felt the sword twist in his wound and he yelled, dropping his own sword to grasp at his chest.

Geoff's vision was already beginning to fail as he tried to look around again. The monster in front of him was staring down at him and it seemed almost.. pleased. He saw that in the pause of battle, blurry heads were sticking out from behind the doors of the houses still standing. He turned his head just to his right to see the outline of the guards, all lined up, staring. He could see Michael's diamond sword. He saw Gavin; well, saw his boots for the most part. I'm going to die looking at that idiot's golden boots, he thought, and then the blade twisted yet again in his chest.

His eyes closed tight and yet another scream tore from his throat, but even after he was finished screaming he couldn't get the words out. Why? Why did you do it? He wanted to ask so bad, he wanted to know. Why did you pretend to be my friend?

His body was failing now and he knew he only had a few moments left. He could hardly move his hands from his chest, having to put all his thought into moving his fingers, and then his arms. Geoff brought his hands to his crown and with the last of his will, placed a powerful curse upon the crown. Until he wore it again, all who wore the crown would lose their sanity and suffer whenever it was on their head.

Finally, Geoff let go. He let his body fall to its knees, feeling a foot be placed against his back, letting himself be kicked to the ground with the sword being pulled from his chest at the same time. The bloodied crown rolled off his head, coming to a stop at the feet of the beast. As he began to pull himself from his mortal form, the body began to turn into bone immediately. The Vagabond Haywood stepped over his disintegrating corpse, only to be stopped by a skeletal hand grabbing his ankle. "This.. is not the last time.. we will meet..." Geoff promised before pulling away from his mortal form entirely, his body simply turning into a skeleton.

He watched Haywood simply continue walking, the hand still wrapped around his ankle, going to the crown. Haywood lifted up the crown, not caring about the blood on it as he put it upon his head. Geoff watched as the man he once trusted so much turned to the crowd of people gathering and smile as he said his next words.

"All hail the Mad King."
