My itouch is being dumb

Things that are wrong with my iTouch: it skips music with out me touching it. It also pauses the music sometimes. It is slow. It goes to voice control with me touching any buttons. Overall, its glitching out.

Things I have tried to do to fix it: turning off and turning it off again, restoring it and backing it up, syncing it, and contacting the apple people( they wanted me too pay money to get help).

Anyone have any suggestions for me on how to fix it?
