Puella Magi Madoka Magica is always one of my favorites. Magical girls and tragedy.

Hourou Musuko aka Wandering Son is also a good one!! It's about a young trans girl and I loved it.

Saint Young Men or Saint Onii-san, either the movie or the two episodes, is also good. Jesus and Buddha on vacation.

As for another animated movie, Wolf Children Ame and Yuki is amazing. You will probably cry a little. But definitely worth a watch if you want a really amazing anime experience.

For something funny, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is hilarious.

fullmetal alchemist brotherhood man i've watched that through more than once i love it so much

dragonball is one of the animes i should have watched as a kid apparently

haven't heard of this zorica one and i just haven't gotten around to gurren lagann. i am enjoying kill la kill though

also another i have to suggest is durarara
i really enjoyed that one. they've got such a wacky plot that you think will never make sense and just brings more questions every episode and then is all tied up beautifully in the last episode i felt.

I wasted like three years of my life obsessing over Soul Eater you should all watch/read it and tell me how much you love it so I feel those three years weren't a waste

Well I did all the typical 90's/early 2000's anime that were 4kids'd and such, so your Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-gi-oh!, DBZ etc. Also who remembers like Duel Masters I think it was called? Or the original season dub of Beyblades my god. Or HAMTARO. OR CRUSH GEAR TURBO WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS THIS.

Also do the usual mangos: Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Bleach, Soul Eater, Attack on Titian, started One Piece again after ages, and watch all the anime for that too. Wolf's Rain I really liked

Guilty Pleasure Anime: Ouran High School Host Club and Space Dandy. They are so silly and stupid and yet...

One Piece has always been one of my favorites
FMA:B though is great in both forms

I'd recommend Kekkaishi too. I really like it but not too many people seem to know about it.
Blue Exorcist or Ao No Exorcist is good too in manga form the anime is... different? They did what they did with the original FMA a little bit and completely changed the story.

I watched the Trigun movie recently and it was good. Need to read/watch the whole series now.

Omg Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo is great show that makes no sense but would recommend for a good laugh. Also Ravemaster.

Durarara is also good. Also Soul Eater. SAO is pretty decent too.
Manga wise Fruits Basket and Chobits also good ones.

-causally lists everything-

Oh man Beyblades. Never watched the show, bought plenty of the tops though they were the shit. Anyway yeah the usual 4kids stuff Pokemon, Yugioh, etc. Recently began watching "real" anime. First one I watched? Free!, then Attack on Titan, Beyond the Boundary, and currently enjoying Kill la Kill along with luke (except YOURE SO BEHIND YOU BUTT). Oh also Sword Art Online that was a really good one.

Ah yeah Beyblades. Violent spinning tops that would occasionally fly out of the arena and hit you in the face

I don't think the ones now a days are as violent or cool

And then you'd get those cheaty ones with metal centers and blades that were heavier and harder to take out of the arena. man those were the days
